About This Show

An award-winning sellout hit from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Floating is an engaging original comedy from renowned British theatre company Hoipolloi that tells the beautiful and fantastical story of a man trapped on a floating island.

On April 1, 1982, the Isle of Anglesey broke free from the Welsh mainland and drifted into the North Atlantic. Trapped on board, and desperate to escape, was Hugh Hughes. Now an emerging artist, Hugh and his collaborative partner, Sioned Rowlands, colorfully reconstruct the island’s journey across the Atlantic, up to the Arctic and beyond.

This production is part of Wales Week, a series of special events to promote Wales and to give New Yorkers the opportunity to sample the very best in Welsh food, drink, music, film, design and literature.
