About This Show

One of Russia’s most renowned master acting teachers/directors, Piotr Fomenko’s most recent work, Egyptian Nights, weaves tales of relationships in 19th-century Russia around stories of Cleopatra’s purportedly scandalous nights. Adapted by Fomenko from the unfinished works of Alexander Pushkin and a 20th century interpretation by dramatist Valery Bryusov, the play received its premiere in Moscow in September 2002. It will have its North American Premiere at the Lincoln Center Festival.

Performed in Russian with simultaneous English translation.
