Dessa Rose reunites writers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty with director Graciele Daniele (who collaborated on the musical Once On This Island), to tell the story of two women, one black and one white, who embark on an unexpected and dangerous journey through the pre-Civil War South. Based on the novel by Sherley Anne Williams.
