As the holiday season approaches, and plans are afoot for presents, parties and family gatherings, many New York theatre goers are eagerly awaiting the return of a new holiday tradition: Artfull Circle Theatre’s musical comedy
romp Christmas with the Crawfords. Yes, Mommie Dearest (played by the legendary Joey Arias) and the children are back for a third season, with the promise that new and old friends alike will experience Christmas Eve as they have never experienced it before.
The show takes us back to Christmas Eve, 1944. Joan
Crawford and her children, Christina and Christopher, are excitedly preparing for their now legendary live radio broadcast from their home in glamorous Brentwood. With her friend Hedda Hopper as host, and her terrified children in tow,
Mommie Dearest plans to make the holiday broadcast her stepping stone back into the limelight. However, the evening does not go as planned.
