ASYLUM: The Strange Case of Mary Lincoln

The York Theatre Company presents the world premiere of the new musical ASYLUM: The Strange Case of Mary Lincoln, featuring a book by June Bingham and music and lyrics by Carmel Owen. Fabrizio Melano directs, with musical direction and arrangements by Bob Goldstone. Carolann Page heads the cast in the role of Mary Lincoln.

Ten years after the assassination of President Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre, Mary Todd Lincoln faces off against her late husband’s former political allies and her only remaining son as they attempt to have her committed to an asylum for her erratic behavior. Witness the greatest challenge of her life as she fights those she trusted most, the country that once loved her, and the ghosts of a haunted past to keep alive the love that she and her husband shared.
