Kenita R. Miller, Paolo Montalban, et al. Set for Two River’s Honk

Two River Theater has announced the full cast for its annual holiday show, Honk: A Musical Tale of ‘The Ugly Duckling,’ an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s story with music by George Stiles and book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. Matt Pfeiffer will direct the production, with music direction by Wayne Barker and choreography by Jenn Rose. It will play Two River’s Rechnitz Theater, in Red Bank New Jersey, December 6-January 1, with an opening on December 10.

Comic and heart-warming, the Olivier Award-winning musical tells the story of an odd-looking baby duck, Ugly, and his quest to find his mother .

Paolo Montalban will star as Ugly, with the cast also featuring Amanda Butterbaugh (Grace, Dot, Lowbutt, and Bewick), Aymee Garcia (Maureen, Snowy, Queenie, and Mother Swan), Michael Genet (Turkey, Barnacles, Bullfrog, and Father Swan), Doug Hara (Cat), Kenita R. Miller (Ida), Jim Newman (Drake and Greylag), and Olivia Oguma (Henrietta, Pinkfoot, Penny, and Maggie Pie).

The company also features four children as Ugly’s duckling siblings: Laura Diorio, Owen Doherty, Julian Sarin, and Gabriella Scerbo.

The band will include David Malachowski (guitar), Joshua Samuels (drums/percussion), Frank Vacin (reeds), and Joseph Wallace (bass).

The creative team will include David P. Gordon (scenic designer), Olivera Gajic (costume designer), Jeanette Yew (lighting and projections designer), and Karin Graybash (sound designer).
