Academy Award winner and stage veteran Ellen Burstyn will give an open master class for BFA acting students at Kean University. The event will be held in the University Center Little Theatre, at Kean’s campus in Union, New Jersey on Monday, December 5, beginning at 5:15pm.

She will critique and discuss the scenes the students have prepared, and participate in a question and answer session, in which she will discuss her career and take questions from the students and patrons in the audience. John Wooten will moderate.

Burstyn is a six-time Academy Award nominee, and won the Oscar for Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. She received the Tony Award for Same Time, Next Year and has also appeared on Broadway in 84 Charing Cross Road, Shirley Valentine, and Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All. She is currently starring Off-Broadway in The Atmosphere of Memory, which ends its engagement at the Bank Street Theatre on November 20.

The open master class with Burstyn is part of Kean University’s Premiere Artists series.
