PHOTO FLASH: Jeff Calhoun, Kenny Ortega, et al. at Paper Mill Playhouse’s Newsies Fan Day

Lyricist Jack Feldman, screenwriter Ms Noni Write and film director and choreographer Kenny Ortega were among the special guests at Paper Mill Playhouse’s Newsies Fan Day on Sunday, October 2. The event included not only the performance of the show based on the Disney movie, but also a reception and talk-back.
Other guests at the special performance were cast members from the film on which the new stage musical is based, including Gabriel Damon (Spot Conlon), Luke Edwards (Les Jacobs), Shon Greenblatt (Oscar Delancy), Arvie Lowe Jr. (Boots), David Moscow (Davey), David Sheinkoph (Morris Delancy), David Sidoni (Pie Eater), and Kevin Stey (Swifty).
Newsies, directed by Jack Calhoun, who also attended the special event, and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The production continues through October 16.
