Pinkins will star in the title role of the work, which explores the life of the legendary singer, whose popular hits include "Stormy Weather," "Heat Wave" and "Supper Time," among many others. Pinkins has recently appeared in the Off-Broadway productions of Storefront Church, Hurt Village, and Milk Like Sugar. Her additional credits include Caroline, or Change, The Wild Party, Jelly's Last Jam, and many others.
