Millburn, New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse will host its Curtain Up on the 76th Season Gala on May 2. The annual fundraising event will honor Tony Danza, recent star of the theater's Broadway-bound musical Honeymoon in Vegas, along with Linda Bowden, New Jersey regional president with PNC Bank. Former New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne will also attend, celebrating his 90th birthday. All proceeds from the gala will go toward funding Paper Mill productions, professional training programs, and arts education and outreach efforts.

"Nearly 400 of our theater's community of influential business executives, civic leaders, discerning consumers, and tastemakers will gather together for an evening that reflects the heart, artistry, and vitality of Paper Mill Playhouse," said Mark S. Hoebee, Paper Mill Playhouse's producing artistic director. "This black tie evening includes dinner, dancing, an unforgettable auction, and unparalleled Broadway entertainment."

Danza, a Broadway, television, and film veteran, will accept the Frank Carrington Excellence in the Arts Award. In addition to his recent run at the Paper Mill, Danza's stage credits include Max Bialystock in Mel Brooks' hit Broadway musical The Producers, Wrong Turn at Lungfish, The Iceman Cometh opposite Kevin Spacey, A View From the Bridge, and I Remember You. Best known for his long-running television roles in the popular series Taxi and Who's the Boss, Danza recently appeared as the father of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character in the feature film Don Jon.
