Tommy Tune to Perform at Centenary Stage

Nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune will perform as part of the Centenary Stage Company season on March 24 at 2 pm and 8pm with Steps in Time: A Broadway Biography in Song and Dance. The performances will be held in Sitnik Theater of the new David and Carol Lackland Center on the campus of Centenary College in Hackettstown NJ.

In the piece, Broadway’s legendary song and dance man hits the stage in a musical memoir, high stepping through his illustrious career celebrating 50 years on the Great White Way. He sings, dances, and laughs his way through glorious musical moments that make him a theatre legend. He will be backed up by the multi-talented Manhattan Rhythm Kings.

Tune has been honored with nine Tony Awards celebrating him as a performer, choreographer and director. In addition, he has been awarded eight Drama Desk Awards, three Astaire Awards and the Society of Directors and Cheographers’ George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement. He is also the recipient of the National Medal of Arts, the highest honor for artistic achievement given by the President of the United States. He has been honored with his own star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame.
