Stephanie Roth Haberle, Jake Silbermann et al. Set for McCarter Theatre’s Phaedra Backwards

Susan Blommaert, Christopher Coucill, Angel Desai, Sean Haberle, Stephanie Roth Haberle, Julienne Hanzelka Kim, Mariann Mayberry, Julio Monge, Randall Newsome, and Jake Silbermann will star in the world premiere of Marina Carr’s Phaedra Backwards, to be presented by the McCarter Theatre, October 18-November 6. Emily Mann will direct.

This deconstructive adaptation of the Phaedra myth utilizes a non-linear structure and a variety of non-dialogue techniques (both film and live action). Haberle will star as Phaedra, with Silbermann as Hippolytus.

The design team will include Rachel Hauck (set design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Mark Bennett (original music and sound design), Peter Nigrini (projection design), and Peter Pucci (movement director).
