A ridiculous and hysterical bit of theatrical silliness that presents all of Shakespeare's plays in a rapid 98 minutes, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) continues at the Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival. Director Dominick Scudera's production stars Brian McCann, David Raphaely, and the always-humorous John Zak (thru May 19).
LA Kids Spotlight: April '06
Theater that will appeal to family audiences includes Laguna Playhouse's Youth Theatre production of the musical Honk! (through April 9), based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Ugly Duckling and Santa Monica Playhouse's All the World's a Stage (opening April 8), a new musical written and directed by Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie, replete with magic, fairies, mistaken identity, romance, humor, and audience participation.

The Kennedy Center's Imagination Celebration series for children has a different take on the Middle East, debuting Walking the Winds: Arabian Tales, a mixture of storytelling, dance and music that is a unique international partnership joining theater artists from Jordan and the United States at the Family Theatre (April 7-15). This collection of Arabian stories is designed to build bridges between the two cultures.
