London Kids Spotlight: April '09

Parents seeking entertainment for children are advised to think about the Unicorn where various entertainments are available. The Book of Beasts (April 8-11), an adaptation of the revered E. Nesbit's work about a young king and temptation is one. Another is a puppet treatment of Jean Giono's beloved The Man Who Planted Trees (April 14-26). Why not Douglas Irvine's go at J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan (April 14-19) and/or a new version of Hans Christian Andersen's Ugly Duckling (April 22-May 2)?
Chicago Kids Spotlight: April '09
Chicago is going gaga for musicals in April. Broadway In Chicago is having a particularly active spring season, with the national tour of Mary Poppins rehearsing and opening in Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (already extended through July 12) and featuring its two original Broadway stars, Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee.
Boston Metro Kids Spotlight: April '09
The Big Apple Circus takes over City Hall Plaza with Play On! (April 4-May 10) -- what better, or more wholesome, way to cast off winter's gloom. Also this month, Charlotte -- of Charlotte's Web -- is one of the great mothers, not to mention friends, of all time. Merle Perkins plays the helpful arachnid in the Wheelock Family Theatre production (April 10-May 10); Robert Saoud portrays her porcine buddy Wilbur, and winning young Grace Brakeman his champion, Fern.
