Film and TV star Jennifer Tilly, who appeared on Broadway in the 2001 revival of The Women, will host the seventh annual Tony Awards Party benefit event to be held in Los Angeles, during which Rita Moreno will be presented with the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Moreno won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 1962 for her featured role as Anita in West Side Story, two Emmy Awards for her guest performances in The Muppet Show and The Rockford Files, and a 1975 Tony Award for her performance in The Ritz. She also appeared on Broadway in Skydrift, The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Gantry, The National Health, Wally’s Cafe, and the female version of The Odd Couple.

The 2003 Tony Awards Party will be held at the Skirball Center, located at 2701 North Sepulveda Boulevard in Los Angeles, on the day of the Tony Awards ceremony, June 8. It will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 3:30pm; dinner and a viewing of the live Tony telecast will follow from 5pm to 8pm, capped by the presentation of the award to Moreno.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Aid for AIDS and The Actors’ Fund of America. Tickets are $185 and may be purchased by phoning The Actors’ Fund Office at 323-933-9266, ext. 54.
