City Center Encores! has just announced additional casting for its upcoming staged concert presentation of No Strings, the 1962 Richard Rodgers musical.

Maya Days (Aida, Jesus Christ Superstar) and James Naughton (Chicago, City of Angels) will star as fashion model Barbara Woodruff and novelist David Jordan in this story of an interracial love affair with “no strings” attached. In the original Broadway production, these roles were played by Diahann Carroll and Richard Kiley.

Len Cariou (Proof, The Dinner Party, Sweeney Todd) will play Louis de Pourtal, one of Barbara’s rich admirers; Penny Fuller (The Dinner Party) will play Mollie Plummer, a fashion magazine editor; Marc Kudisch (Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Wild Party) will play Mike Robinson, David’s gigolo friend; and Emily Skinner (My Life With Albertine, Side Show) will play Comfort O’Connor, an American heiress. The remaining members of the cast will be announced shortly.

The production will be directed and choreographed by Ann Reinking, returning to Encores! for the first time since choreographing its smash-hit production of Chicago in 1996. (Reinking is also choreographing The Look of Love: The Songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David on Broadway this season.) Rob Fisher will provide musical direction and will conduct the Encores! orchestra.

No Strings will run May 8-12. Tickets may be purchased at the box office at City Center (West 55th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues), by calling CityTix at 212-581-1212, or by visiting www.citycenter.org.
