WHAT Holds Auditions for 2003 Season
The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, the oldest professional non-profit theater on Cape Cod, has announced that auditions for its 2003 season will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, April 12-13 and April 19-20, between 9am and 4:50pm in Wellfleet. Auditions will also be held in New York City on Thursday, April 17.
The season opens on May 21. Shows currently under consideration for production include True West, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma’s Hung You in the Closet and I’m Feelin’ So Sad.
Performers interested in auditioning should contact WHAT by e-mail at auditions@what.org with a preferred audition date and time, or by sending a request along with a headshot and résumé to WHAT
Auditions, Box 797, Wellfleet, MA 02667. WHAT will confirm by e-mail or telephone. Performers should bring a headshot and résumé to the audition and prepare a two-minute contemporary monologue (sides will be available on the day of the audition). Equity and non-Equity performers are encouraged to attend; all Equity members requesting an appointment will be seen and as many non-Equity members as possible will be seen as well.
WHAT operates under the AEA/NEAT Small Professional Theater contract, which offers $218 per week plus pension and health benefits for Equity members. Housing is provided. Non-Equity performers earn $150 per week plus housing if needed, and they receive EMC points for their WHAT employment.
