Out Professionals to Host Theater-Related Discussions

The organization Out Professionals has announced two upcoming, theater-related discussions. The first, to be held on March 19, will have La Bohème producer Jeffrey Seller talking to Thomas Cott, the new artistic director of Musical Theatre Works. The second, on March 24, will have TheaterMania’s own Brian Scott Lipton talking to Jonathan Tolins and Ted Snowdon, the author and producer of at the Rattlestick Theater, on the topic “When Can a Gay Play Cross Over?”

Prior to joining Musical Theatre Works, Cott served at Lincoln Center Theater for 18 years. Seller has produced Rent, De La Guarda, and La Bohème, and is planning to open an Off-Broadway theater center in 2004. Tolins’s credits include Twilight of the Golds and Queer as Folk. Snowdon recently co-produced A.R. Gurney’s The Fourth Wall at Primary Stages and Little Ham at the John Houseman Theatre.

Both discussions will take place at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (208 West 13th Street). Tickets for the Seller-Cott talk, to be held from 6:30 to 9pm on Wednesday, March 19, are $5 for Out Professionals members and $8 for non-members. Tickets for the “When Can a Gay Play Cross Over?” talk, to be held from 8 to 9:30 pm on Monday, March 24, are $6 for members and $9 for non-members.
