Seth Rudetsky Presents Purim Cabaret at JCC, March 10

The Jewish Community Center (JCC) will present a , written and directed by Seth Rudetsky and featuring some of the New York theater’s brightest stars, on Monday, March 10.

Purim Cabaret refracts the biblical story of Esther through the prism of the 1964 Broadway musical Funny Girl and a number of other classic Broadway shows. The cast will include Shoshana Bean (Hairspray), Peter Gallagher (Noises Off, Guys and Dolls), Leslie Kritzer (Tell Me on a Sunday at the Kennedy Center, Funny Girl at the Paper Mill Playhouse), Julia Murney (The Wild Party and Time and Again at Manhattan Theatre Club), Billy Porter (currently appearing in Radiant Baby), and Lillias White (The Life, Dreamgirls).

Rudetsky, who conducted The Actors’ Fund benefit concerts of Dreamgirls and Funny Girl, is a three-time Emmy Award nominee for his writing for The Rosie O’Donnell Show. He also hosts the Broadway Chatterbox every Thursday evening at Don’t Tell Mama. And, beginning February 28, his critically acclaimed one-man show Rhapsody in Seth will be running at The Actors’ Playhouse on Thursdays and Fridays at 10pm and Saturdays at 2pm.
