Kitt and Lithgow to Light Broadway Holiday Tree

Eartha Kitt (Nine) and John Lithgow (The Retreat From Moscow) will light this year’s Broadway Holiday Tree on Wednesday, December 10 at 5:15pm.

As usual, the annual ceremony will be held in Duffy Square, located at Broadway and 46th Street (near the TKTS Booth). Kitt and Lithgow will be joined by company members from most of the shows currently playing on Broadway.

The event will begin with a performance by Hairspray cast members Kathy Brier, Tracee Beazer, Judine Richard, and Shayna Steele. During the ceremony, Theatre Development Fund and the League of American Theatres and Producers will present a check for $5,000 to Mindy Chermak, principal of the Professional Performing Arts School. Students from the school will sing a song titled “Christmas in About Three Minutes” to cap the event, which is free and open to the public.
