Jonathan Pryce to Star in London Production of The Goat

It has just been announced that Tony Award-winning actor Jonathan Pryce will star in the London premiere of Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?

Pryce will play Martin, an esteemed architect whose life crumbles when his relationship with a barnyard animal is revealed to his family. Kate Fahy and Matthew Marsh will also star in the London production, which will be directed by Anthony Page. The show will begin previews at the Almeida Theatre on January 22, 2004 and is set to open on February 3.

The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? premiered on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre on March 10, 2002 and ran for 309 performances; Bill Pullman and Mercedes Ruehl were the original stars. The play won the Tony Award and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.
