Luker, James, and Others to Sing Kander for New Voices

The New Voices Collective will present the inaugural concert of its second season, “Fall Songfest,” featuring the art songs of John Kander (Cabaret, Chicago) and original compositions by Jeff Blumenkrantz (Urban Cowboy), Peter Foley, and Joe Thalken on September 29 at 8pm in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space.

Among those scheduled to perform are Kate Baldwin (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Judy Blazer (Titanic), Brian d’Arcy James (Sweet Smell of Success), Rebecca Luker (Nine), and Michael Winther (1776). The evening will be hosted by Danny Burstein (A Class Act) and the singers will be accompanied by Grant Wenaus on piano, Clay Ruede on cello, and Ed Matthew on clarinet.
