The production will include both The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project Epilogue: 10 Years Later, which look at the impact that the murder of Matthew Shepard had upon the community where he was killed. The show is being produced in partnership with numerous universities, and includes an educational component.
The original Laramie Project was written by Moisés Kaufman and the members of Tectonic Theater Project, and directed by Leigh Fondakowski and Kaufman. The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later was written by Kaufman, Fondakowski, Greg Pierotti, Andy Paris and Stephen Belber, and directed by Kaufman.
The production will feature scenic design by Robert Brill, costume design by Moe Schell, lighting design by Betsy Adams, and music by Peter Golub.
The tour will begin at the Cutler Majestic Theater at Emerson College in Boston (September 24-October 2), and will continue on to Penn State Center for the Performing Arts University Park, PA (October 6-7), Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, University of Northern Iowa Cedar Falls, IA October 13-14), Young Auditorium, University of Wisconsin Whitewater, WI (October 18-19), San Francisco Jewish Community Center, San Francisco, CA (October 22-23), and University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA (November 11-13).
