The blockbuster musical Wicked will launch a second North American tour at the the Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, FL March 7-29, 2009. No casting has been announced.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

The design team includes Eugene Lee (set), Susan Hilferty (costumes), Kenneth Posner (lighting), Tony Meola (sound), William David Brohn (orchestrations), and James Lynn Abbott (dance arrangements).

Additional stops will include Birmingham (BJCC Concert Hall, April 3-19), Jacksonville (Times Union Center, April 23-May 10), Norfolk, (Chrysler Hall, May 13-31), Indianapolis (Murat Centre, June 3-21), and Memphis (Orpheum Theatre, June 24-July 12). Additional cities will be announced in the future.

The current Wicked tour, will continue with upcoming stops including Rochester (Auditorium Theatre, May 28-June 15), Buffalo (Shea's Performing Arts Center, June 18-July 13), East Lansing (Wharton Center, July 16-August 10), Ottawa (National Arts Centre, August 13-31), Pittsburgh (Benedum Center, September 3-October 5), Atlanta (Fox Theatre, October 8-November 2), Minneapolis (Orpheum Theatre, November 5-Dec 7), Detroit (Opera House, December 10-January 4, 2009), Louisville (Kentucky Center, January 7-February 1), Appleton (Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, February 4-March 1), Portland (Keller Auditorium, March 4-April 5), Salt Lake City (Capitol Theatre, April 8-May 3), Omaha (Orpheum Theatre, May 6-31), San Antonio (Majestic Theatre, June 3-28), and Tempe (Gammage Auditorium, July 1-26), with additional cities to be announced in the future.

The musical currently is at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre, as well at Chicago's Ford Center for Performing Arts/Oriental Theatre (where it will close on January 25), in Los Angeles at the Pantages Theatre (where it will close on January 11). An additional sit-down production will open in San Francisco in late January 2009 at the Orpheum Theatre.
