Synopsis
New York University's Department of Performance Studies and Performance Studies International present a Cabaret Celebration of Feminist and Queer Performance in association with the annual conference, PSi #13: Happening/Performance/Event, which brings together artists and scholars from around the world who think seriously and critically about the politicis and aesthetics of performance. One the the conference's featured performances is Wow and Now, a night of cabaret hosted by Nao Bustamente and Karen Finley, that will, in part, celebrate the Wow Cafe and its lasting and pivotal contributions to performance art. The star-studded night of deviant song, dance and general hilarity will feature work by downtown legends and sensational up and coming performers and including Lois Weaver, Peggy Shaw, Carmelita Tropicana, Holly Hughes, Dynasty Handbag, My Barbarian, and Kalup Linzy.
