Synopsis

Vince Martell's riff in the Vanilla Fudge chart topper, "You Keep Me Hangin' On," is ranked the number four heaviest guitar riff of all time by Guitar Magazine. The Vanilla Fudge's symphonic rock remake of this Supremes hit placed them at number six on the Billboard Charts in the U.S.A. and at number two on the charts in England, second only to The Beatles.

Led Zeppelin opened for them Jimi Hendrix and Vanilla Fudge toured together. The great Jimi himself once told Vinny to contact him if The Fudge ever broke up -- the Hendrix-Martell Experience, perhaps. Jefferson Airplane, Cream, Janis Joplin, The Doors, B.B. King and more, all graced the stage with them.

Philadelphia's power pop sensation Nazz still features original lead singer Stewkey and their live shows recreate searing letter-perfect 4-part harmony driven versions of their classics "Hello it's Me" & "Open My Eyes" in addition to newer songs. Voted one of the top 100 cult bands by Shindig Magazine, Nazz were light years ahead of most contemporary American bands.

Like fellow New Yorkers the Rascals, the Vagrants prominently featured a Hammond organ, and often played soul-influenced rock. The Vagrants were far more guitar-based than the Rascals, however, as well as projecting a more garagey, less mature outlook; their later material lands somewhere between the Rascals and Vanilla Fudge.
