Underground at the Abrons: Noveller with Millions Tickets and Information
Synopsis
Next up at the Underground is Noveller, the solo project of Brooklyn-based sound artist and filmmaker Sarah Lipstate. Having performed in Rhys Chatham's Guitar Army and as a member of Glenn Branca's 100 Guitar Ensemble, Lipstate has recently joined Parts & Labor as their new guitarist. Her short films have been screened for two consecutive years at SXSW, earning Lipstate the Diamond in the Rough Cut award for exceptional emerging filmmaker at Cinematexas 2006. The opening performance of the night features Millions, a project of David Suss, weaving guitar, electronics, voice, and effects into densely layered drone works, both patiently meditative and affectingly powerful.
