Synopsis

This Hybrid Poetry Play has theme of Broken Dreams, Unfulfilled promises, Hard Knocks and Survival as performed through this Poetry Performance Piece with Music about the African American Experience. Movement heightens the Drama of the poetry. You will laugh, cry and maybe even be moved in this first of its kind event. You certainly will be entertained in ways you can't imagine. The play features some powerful published poets and a Rapper/Activist 'Shakka" with his too many to mention CDs he has produced. He will have you thinking you are hearing Tupac. Lyrics and Sounds are cream for the ears and Juice for the feet. Rapping Hard about Life and Living. For Real! There is an Incredible Poet being featured with Shakka, the Hard Hitting take no prisoners poet "Krast Is". If you don't know him, after seeing him you won't forget him. He has produced DVDs and CDs of his socially conscious work.

The evening also features a few Special Guest Poets that have their own claims to fame and their wares will be on display. Carolyn Baxter aka Kulcha Born a published Poet and Writer will have her say. She will hit you where it hurts. "DuEwa" another Poet with several books published, brings her own brand of poetry and commentary that will leave you thinking hard about the words she spits. And we have Heloise aka SMR "Seeking My Remnant" who will spiritually move you through her dynamic and emotional Spoken Word and music. If you're looking for an Entertaining, Cutting Edge, Emotional, Exciting Poetic/Musical Experience then this show is for you.
