Synopsis

The New Group presents the world premiere of The Music Teacher, a play/opera with words by Wallace Shawn and music by Allen Shawn. Tom Carins directs, with musical direction by Timothy Long and choreography by David Neumann.

A unique and startling blend of theatre and opera, The Music Teacher is a story of creation and obsession in which a young teacher and his brilliant female student conceive and perform a new opera.
