Synopsis

A delicious satire about greed, power, big business, and the ability of the little people (mad though they may be) to win the day! Joy, justice, and love return to the world once more.

MTB Studio presents THEATRE UNPLUGGED, an innovative new theatre company founded by acclaimed acting teacher and director Mary T. Boyer. The company strikes the set and ignites the satire in its inaugural production, French dramatist Jean Giraudoux's The Madwoman of Chaillot.

"Although Jean Giraudoux wrote The Madwoman of Chaillot in Paris during the Nazi Occupation, the play is as timeless, universal, and relevant as ever as it addresses such topics as war, the triumph of profit over social consciousness, the oil industry, and destruction of the environment," remarks Boyer.

Founded by Mary T. Boyer, THEATRE UNPLUGGED is a venture guided by the desire to get back to basics in theatre production. A small theatre, simple staging, minimal sets and costumes, no special lighting, and an emphasis on rich dialogue and robust acting create an atmosphere where the audiences' imagination can flourish.
