Synopsis

The York Theatre Company presents a concert version of The Grass Harp as part of its Musicals in Mufti series. Claibe Richardson and Kenward Elmslie's ravishing score brings the characters of Truman Capote's touching and fanciful novella (and play) vividly to life. Set in a small Southern town in a time of lazy summer afternoons, this is Capote's valentine to his youth. Heading the cast of the under-appreciated musical will be Jeanne Lehman, Barbara Tirrell, B.J. Crosby and Sandy Duncan, with Kim Blair, Emily Blau, Jeff Cyronek, Jason Dula, Colin Hanlon, Regina Lobiondo, Pasha Pellosi, Guy Stroman and Audrey Vernick.
