Synopsis


The Girls of Summer is set in 1945, during the men's baseball strike, as an all African-American female baseball team is assembled to play "The Rockford Peaches" of the AAGPBL in an exhibition game. When the coach of the black team is mysteriously found dead - racism, deceit, and betrayal are brought to light as this drama unveils.

The Girls of Summer is a part of the Midtown International Theater Festival and is written and directed by Layon Gray.
