Synopsis

The Country Girl, by Clifford Odets, continues Jean Cocteau Repertory's 30th anniversary season. The play is a tender comedy about what it takes to be an actor when everyone is against you--including yourself. Frank Elgin is a brilliant actor in what should be the peak of his career, but has fallen due to alcoholism and what he claims is the over-dependence of his wife, Georgie. But when Frank gets cast in a part that is sure to be his comeback, loyalties are put to a test, and Georgie reveals that she's not just a little ol' country girl, after all.
