Synopsis
With affection and humor the fourth annual Beast Festival explores through 9 original plays the relationship between humans and animals, from the zoo we live in to the nature of the beast in all of us. Rescue organizations will be on hand at each performance with animals to adopt. This is a must-see event opening the weekend of the annual Blessing of the Animals.
Included in this year's festival of new plays are Calling Luis by Leah Ryan, The Cat by Linda Thomas, Douglas by Robert Fieldsteel, Daily Bread for the Doe by Randy Moomaw , Gordy by Don Carter, Hearing Elephants by Frank Higgins, Max by Elise Robertson, Pigeons in the Park by Alex Nicol and The World's First Vegetarians by Moral Conviction by Rich Amada. The cast includes: Arthur Anderson, Joanna Bonaro, Don Carter, Shavonne Conroy, Gioia De Cari, Scott Klavan, Byron Loyd, Joe MacDougall, Jodie McClintock, Carolyn McDermott, Tony Mayes, Jan Owen, Jean Streit, Larry Swansen, Richard Vernon, James Weatherstone, Lara Wright and Audrie Zerul. Produced and directed by Nancy Rogers, Artistic Director of Triangle Theatre, she includes in her production team Whitney Locher (costumes), Craig Lenti (sound), and Jessica Nikithser (sets and lights).
