Synopsis

"a hymn to the unifying spirit of theater that takes artful advantage of the show's bountiful cast of 45"
Charles Isherwood, The New York Times

"a delightful theatrical tapestry"
Frank Scheck, NY Post

"What's surprising is that what has come out of the seemingly chaotic group effort is a smoothly oiled piece about a single, 45-headed character. It works like a charm."
Marilyn Stasio, Variety.com

"Nearly perfect. The Audience beats the odds -- brilliantly."
David Finkle, TheaterMania.com

The Audience is a new musical about an audience watching a Broadway musical. With simultaneous storylines and original songs, The Audience uses the talents of over 30 playwrights, composers and lyricists and 46 actors to create the journey of one vibrant group of theatergoers who venture to a Broadway theatre one rainy Saturday night to see a new contemporary American musical. The curtain rises on a pair of ushers stuffing programs. Soon, the house opens and the audience members gradually enter and take their seats...

From Transport Group, the theatre company that brought you last year's Drama Desk nominated First Lady Suite.
