Festivities begin at 7:00pm with red carpet arrivals and continue with the complete Oscar telecast shown on giant screens in both the lounge and the main performance space at The Cutting Room. Shequida is a drag performer and Julliard trained opera singer with a five octave vocal range. She was a spokesmodel for the USA Network in Brazil and Latin America. She also played a recurring role on ABC's daytime drama One Life to Live. Her acclaimed off-Broadway shows include Shequida's Opera For Dummies (Westbeth Theater) and Popera (PS 122). She has performed at theaters, concert halls, cabarets and nightclubs internationally.
Described by Paper Magazine as "a blast of fresh air from the Pacific Northwest," Amber Martin recently relocated to NYC from Portland. In 1999, she formed the performance group House of Cunt, called "the funniest group in town" by The Oregonian. As a vocalist, she was selected to perform the songs of Janis Joplin at the 16th Annual Janis Joplin Birthday Bash in 2003. She has worked as a vocalist with the Oregon Ballet Theatre and opened as a guest artist for the national tour of Puppetry of the Penis.
