In response to the recent devastation of Mississippi's Coast, The Flea Theater presents the 25th anniversary production of Sister and Miss Lexie. This play with music is adapted from the works of Eudora Welty and the music of Beethoven, written by David Kaplan and Brenda Currin.
Performed by Ms. Currin and pianist Ayako Morino, directed and designed by Mr. Kaplan, Sister and Miss Lexie features the relentless postmistress from the comic classic "Why I Live at the P.O." alongside a failed schoolteacher from the novel Losing Battles. Set in various locations around the State of Mississippi, every word is written by Welty, sometimes stitched together to the music of Beethoven.
There are no performances the week of November 24.
