Synopsis

The original cast of Warren Leight's Tony Award-winning play Side Man -- Edie Falco, Kevin Geer, Michael Mastro, Robert Sella, Joseph Lyle Taylor, Angelica Torn, and Frank Wood -- reunite for a special staged reading work of the work. The reading, directed by Michael Mayer, benefits Opening Act, a nonprofit organization that provides free after-school theater to New York City high schools.

The show, which began life Off-Broadway in 1998 before moving to the Golden Theatre, is a memory play about the family and friends of an unhappy jazz musician. Wood won the Best Featured Actor Tony for his work as Gene.
