Shoot the Dog
Shoot the Dog Tickets and Information
Synopsis
Meet Danny, Yasmine, and Jax. A white college boy, a spirited Indian woman, and a streetwise African-American bartender. Three people, three cultures, three pasts trying to find common ground amidst shots of whiskey, a pick-up game of darts and the sounds of the Four Seasons. This inaugural work by native New Yorker Brittany Rostron is a bold social commentary played out amidst the backdrop of post-9/11 tensions -- and it's a comedy, to boot. At its core, Shoot the Dog is a story about breaking the ties that bind and finding the courage to stand up against the world. After all, sometimes to free yourself of the leash, you just have to shoot the dog.
The play is written by Brittany Rostron, directed by Dennis X. Tseng, and pProduced by Amanda Peck in association with Thirsty Turtle Productions.
Part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
