dre.dance is making its Joyce SoHo debut with an evening of works from its repertory. Athletic and passionate pieces from the young company's first two NYC Seasons will be presented, including the new work developed in their recent residency at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The company continues forging its signature style while pulling from and paying tribute to classical, Afro-Caribbean, urban, pop and even post modern influences. The technical ability of dre.dance company members combines with an exploration of movements and ideas expressed in theatrical, hip-hop and every day styles and activities.
The July 1 closing performance marks two big "firsts" for the the company: dre.dance's first gala performance & post show reception, as well as Taye and Andrew performing with the company in their world premiere work, henk fenyn. The post-show reception, with honorary chairperson Idina Menzel is hosted by Henry Buhl, founder of A.C.E. and the SoHo and TriBeCa Partnerships.
