Synopsis

Our Time is an artistic home for kids who stutter. This production is the culmination of Our Time's One-Act Play Program, in which three teens who stutter write and direct original plays that are performed by professional actors. Our Time's One-Act Play Program feature plays written by and directed by Our Time Teens Danielle Diesu, Tom King and Edward Mawere.

A Playlist Worth A Thousand Words
Written and directed by Danielle Diesu (2nd year in Our Time), age 17, from Long Island.

Can a playlist on an ipod have the power to bring two Co-workers together? Find out in this delightful romantic comedy. Starring Rosie Perez ("Lipstick Jungle" The Ritz), Ramon Rodriguez ("The Wire"), Shirley Rumierk ("Cool in Your Code"), Pancho Gutstein, and Our Time company members Tim Short and Victoria Perlman.

Cherish Every Moment
Written & directed by Tom King (1st year in Our Time), age 17, from Long Island.

This emotional play deals with loss, love, faith, and carrying on. We see a Mother and her Father coming to terms with the death of their Son/Grandson. Starring Jace Alexander (I'm Not Rappaport, Assassins Film: Clueless), Taro Alexander (STOMP, AD of Our Time) , Maddie Corman (Some Kind of Wonderful), Joel Higgins ("Silver Spoons") , and Our Time company member Joseph Popovich, Jr.

Mendacity
Written & directed by Edward Mawere (5th year in Our Time), age 16, from Brooklyn.

This original musical is about the relationship between a Mother and her Daughter and the on-going lies that both have been telling. Edward has written four original rockin' songs that drive this new work. Starring Noah Cornman ("Law & Order"), Carl Danielsen (The Big Voice: God or Merman?), and Emily Whyte.

There will be a Q&A with the teen writers/directors following each performance
