Newsical is a topical musical, with a changing repertoire of songs. Every month,
Village Voice columnist Michael Musto will tip Crom off to his imminent scoops, complete with extra salacious details when applicable. Crom, in a frenzy, will then churn out what is essentially a musicalized version of the column, with a few more added endowments. The song will be called "The Michael Musto Song", and each new "Musto Song" will premiere on the first Wednesday of every month.
"The Michael Musto Song" joins recent new material such as the songs "Lost in a Red State", "I Finally Have a Shot with Brad Pitt", and sketches of George W describing his Social Security plan, a scene with Ossama Bin Laden shooting a new video directed by Susan Stroman, a Sponge Bob denying rumors that he's gay skit, and a little thing where Paris Hilton is announcing her new book.
