The New York Art Ensemble opens its 2005 season with New Music Downtown -- a concert featuring works by composers Eric Moe, Edmund Cionek, Richard Einhorn, Michael Sahl, and the winner of the New York Art Ensemble 2005 Young Composer Competition, Eric Nathan. The performers are led by New York Ensemble violinist Mary Rowell and pianist Geoffrey Burleson, and include a hot roster of new music/jazz/pop/experimental performers such as Garah Landes and Gregory Landes of the piano/percussion duo Synchronicity, soprano saxophonist James Noyes, pianist Yegor Shevtsov, guitarist Kevin Gallagher, and bassist Jeff Carney.
