Synopsis

Inspired by an actual event, Mary Bryant tells the tale of a woman sent to the penal colony of Botany Bay for stealing a scarf, and how upon her recapture and return to England, author James Boswell struggles to see that injustice is not once again thrust upon Mary. Opposing them are powerful political forces which will do anything to prevent the public from learning of the harsh realities of the penal system, and the tragedies that befell Mary because of it.

13th Street Repertory presents this play by Tom O'Neil, directed by Constanine Tariloff.
