Synopsis
Following the successful summer run of 'Maritess: Queen of Magic', EndTimes is proud to introduce Maritess Zurbano: Book of Shadows. EndTimes welcomes back Maritess Zurbano to its Late Nights Underground Series this fall. Ms. Zurbano's 'Book of Shadows' is a magical opus fortified by an affinity for storytelling, imbued with dark humor.
Not only does Ms. Zurbano bear the distinction of being the first Asian female practioner of mentalism (an ancient performance art that utilizes the human mind to perform feats that challenge the tenets of physics and logic), her conception brings a form of magic born in street performance to the stage through an ability to share stories, with and without words. The performance is hearkened to a three dimensional Book of Shadows- the journal for a magician or occultist that preserves the personally profound- resoundingly confessional, astonishing, and comical With inventive sleight of hand, charming soliloquy, and empathetic skill, Ms. Zurbano continues to bend perceptions of women and magic as gracefully as she does forks of stainless steel.
