Vineyard Theatre presents:
Goblin Market
Goblin Market Tickets and Information
Synopsis
The Vineyard Theatre kicks off a series of special anniversary readings November 11-12 with Polly Pen and Peggy Harmon's Goblin Market -- the critically acclaimed chamber musical which was the first show to transfer commercially from a run at The Vineyard Theatre -- featuring the musical's two original stars, Terri Klausner and Ann Morrison. Evan Yionoulis directs. The series of anniversary readings concludes the Vineyard's 25th-year celebration.
Adapted by Polly Pen and Peggy Harmon from the classic Christina Rossetti poem, with music by Polly Pen, Goblin Market is an exotic and striking chamber musical following two Victorian sisters on an enticing, sensual, and unforgettable series of visits with goblins in the wood, who tempt them with "forbidden fruit" and change their lives forever.
These special concert performances reunite the original stars, Terri Klausner and Ann Morrison, with composer Polly Pen and original Musical Director Lawrence Yurman.
The original production of Goblin Market was hailed by The New York Times as "an entrancing expedition," and by Variety as "a spellbinding and highly imaginative musical." The New York Post called it "absolutely gorgeous."
