Synopsis
Recipient of the 2006 TONY© Honor for Excellence in the Theatre!
The latest version of this love letter to Broadway's biggest shows and brightest stars skewers everything from Jersey Boys to Mary Poppins, from Spamalot to the return of Les Miz. ALL the stars, all the smash-hits, and all the stinkers of the season get their due. See all of Broadway in 107 minutes of non-stop hilarity!
Forbidden Broadway has been an unstoppable force in New York theatre since 1982 when Gerard Alessandrini created the first parody that lampooned the Broadway shows and stars of the day. It has been a favorite among theatre lovers as well as the Broadway stars themselves (Carol Channing, Kathleen Turner, Bernadette Peters, Tommy Tune, Stephen Sondheim, Cameron Mackintosh and Hal Prince, to name a few) who often stop by to laugh at themselves alongside their public. Forbidden Broadway has won numerous awards in its history including the Obie, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, and Lucille Lortel Awards. In addition, Forbidden Broadway received the 2006 TONY© Honor for "Excellence in the Theatre."
Winner of the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue!
Forbidden Broadway will return June 14 with its 25th anniversary edition!
