Synopsis

Gotham Stage Company presents the world premiere of Fate's Imagination, by Randall David Cook, directed by Hayley Finn.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Nancy Pelosi: just a few of the most powerful women in American politics. Susan Thomas has joined their ranks.

A former actress and talk-show host, Thomas entered the political world first as a Senator's wife and then taking over her husband's position after his untimely death. Five years later, she is a viable and serious candidate for the White House, a charismatic candidate with a message that voters want to hear. Like all potential Presidents, she is wary of any past or current relationship that could derail her campaign and is aware that as a woman she will face particular scrutiny. When a figure from her past makes a surprising appearance, unanswered questions arise as the personal and political collide in this intense sexual drama.
