Synopsis

Extended by popular demand!

Stiff Upper Lip, the British theatre company specializing in imports from London's Fringe that revived the 90's Fringe phenomenon The Pitchfork Disney last season, is presenting the new drama Dirty Works by Jamie Linley in its world premiere. With an all-British cast of New York-based actors directed by Kevin Kittle, Dirty Works, is the toxically funny and sad tale of drug-abusing Londoners on the dole.

In Dirty Works, hard drugs and hard sex have become alternate currencies in a cash-starved working class London slum. As a group of unemployed nobodies seek, by turns, gratification, competitive advantage and redemption through their trafficking in sex and narcotics, it becomes glaringly clear that those who capitalize on others' misfortune will outlast the rest. However when the comrades capitalizing share nothing but needles and bad blood, the advantage won't be for long.

"If you like your theater crime-ridden, foul-mouthed and drained of human compassion, "Dirty Works" should be right up your very dark alley." -- THE NEW YORK TIMES

"Linley's writing is taut, clever and humane, and Kevin Kittle's direction is appropriately gritty. While most of us know how the other half lives Linley and Kittle provide a graphic depiction of the bottom 1 percent." -- TIME OUT
