The Stonewall Chorale presents:
A Time for Us
A Time for Us Tickets and Information
Synopsis
On the eve of NYC's annual Pride Parade, The Stonewall Chorale looks back on thirty years of making music as the nation's first gay and lesbian choir. With a musical round-up of its history as well as the gay and lesbian history of the city, The Chorale presents favorites from the past 30 years, including pieces that have shaped their classical and pop past. Come, find yourself in the music.
Under the direction of Cynthia Powell, the Chorale performs a varied repertoire spanning centuries and genres, from works of the Mexican Baroque to Mozart and Orff, from choral pieces by Johannes Brahms and John Rutter to Björk. Recent performances of works by Kevin Oldham, Chris DeBlasio, Jim Bassi, John Corigliano, and Meredith Monk highlight the Chorale's commitment to contemporary gay American composers and their music.
There will be limited seating available on the evening of the performance. If you purchase tickets in advance, they will be held at the box office.
